Week #6 Rankings – PA/NJ Region

While the Week #6 Rankings are only supposed to include games through Monday, October 16th, it is impossible to ignore the fact that Penn Manor knocked off Donegal yesterday 2-1 in the Lancaster-Lebanon League semifinal.  The loss was the first in 48 games for Donegal.  We couldn’t deny giving the Comets the nod ahead to the #1 spot this week.

It was a crazy week among the top teams in New Jersey with some major shake-ups at the top.  Eastern Regional claims the top NJ spot and bumps up to the #4 spot after securing quality wins over Moorestown and Shawnee last week.  Moorestown enters the Top 20 at #18 after knocking off West Essex 2-0 and playing Eastern Regional to a 2-3 game.  Another game we couldn’t help but consider yesterday was Oak Knoll’s 5-1 convincing win over West Essex (handing them their second loss in a week).

It is nearly impossible to narrow the field of deserving teams down to 20 for this region.  This week we made some big moves.  We have three newcomers to the group, with Moorestown entering at #17, 11-1-2 Academy of Notre Dame de Namur entering at #19 and 18-0 Bermudian Springs entering at #20.
