Lakeland High School continues to look as untouchable as ever. The Hornets sit at 10-0 and hold onto the #1 spot in the Northeast Region Rankings for the fourth straight week. Mamaroneck gets the nod ahead of Shenendehowa this week up to the #2 spot. All four of the New York powerhouses (Mamaroneck, Shenendehowa, Maine-Endwell and Garden City) could really fill any of those 2-5 spots. Darien and Whitney Point secured the big wins of the week. Darien bumps up one spot to #6 after a 1-0 win over then ranked #13 Greenwich. Whitney Point bumps up to #7 after registering a convincing 6-1 win over then #9 ranked Baldwinsville.
Two newcomers from New York state join the Top 20 this week. Afton Central jumps right up to the #15 spot winning 10 straight after dropping the first game of the season 3-2 to Whitney Point back in August. Eastport-South Manor comes in at #19, off to a perfect 9-0 start and looking strong out of Suffolk County.
