2026 Week #2 Regional & National High School Rankings

The 2026 MAX Field Hockey/Longstreth High School National Invitational delivered a weekend of exciting head-to-head matchups, resulting in significant movement across the national rankings. While the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur (Villanova, Pennsylvania) held onto the #1 spot after outscoring its opponents 18-1 at the Invitational, several teams made major statements.

The Agnes Irwin School (Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania) made the week’s biggest jump, climbing from #9 to #3 following an impressive showing that included a 5-1 victory over last week’s #12, Camden Catholic High School (Cherry Hill, New Jersey). Looking at matchups based on last week’s rankings, the invitational featured several tight games between top-ten teams. #5 New Trier High School (Winnetka, Illinois) earned a 3-2 win over #3 Villa Maria Academy (Malvern, Pennsylvania), but later lost by that same 3-2 score to #4 Oak Knoll School (Summit, New Jersey). Oak Knoll finished the weekend 2-0, having also defeated Texas powerhouse St. John’s School (Houston, Texas) 2-0. St. John’s secured its own notable win at the showcase by defeating #19 The Hill School (Pottstown, Pennsylvania) 7-2. Meanwhile, #7 West Essex High School (Caldwell, New Jersey) went 2-0 against ranked opponents, defeating #6 Sacred Heart Academy (Louisville, Kentucky) 2-1 and #22 Staples High School (Westport, Connecticut) 5-1. Also at the showcase, Mount St. Joseph’s Academy (Flourtown, Pennsylvania) won a close PIAA matchup by defeating #17 Mechanicsburg Area High School (Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania) 1-0.

Overall, the weekend featured an impressive display of high-level hockey, giving an early look at many projected state and major conference champions. Seeing so many elite programs face off this early on the same turf highlighted the depth of talent across the country. With these clear head-to-head results now on paper, Week #2 establishes a strong baseline as teams return home and take on their conference and state schedules.
