Why did you choose this school?: As soon as I stepped on campus, I knew I wanted to commit to Columbia University. Everything about Columbia, from the coaches to the team to the incredible academics, fit what I wanted in a school. When I went on my visit, I got the feeling that this would be my home away from home, and being able to play the sport I love at a school as phenomenal as Columbia is something I’ve dreamed of.

Who would you like to thank?: First, my parents and my little sister for all the opportunities they have given me. Without them, I would not have been able to be where I am today. They have driven me to every tournament, watched every game I’ve played, and stuck with me through thick and thin. Coach Lisa Moylan and Coach Bridget Bourke for introducing me to field hockey and nurturing my love for the game. They’ve been there every step of the way, and I am so grateful for their coaching. Coach Cathie Herrick, for (not) forcing me into the role of goalkeeper back in fourth grade. She made me who I am as a goalkeeper, and she has been my #1 supporter and never gave up on me, even when I felt like giving up on myself.

My coaches at Spalding and Warhawks for being amazing people and helping me become better every single day. My teammates, for helping me keep my head up and stay positive. Coach Mimi Smith, for being an awesome player and coach who has motivated me through my worst days, and especially Coach Candice Russ, who helped me through my recruitment process and has been one of the most influential people in my field hockey career.

Finally, I would like to thank the coaches at Columbia University for helping me achieve my goal of being a Division 1 student-athlete. They are incredible, and I am so excited to come to CU and play for them. This has been my dream for years, and I am glad to be a Lion!
