WEEK #2: PA/NJ Region High School Rankings

Eastern Regional maintains the #1 ranking in the Week #2 PA/NJ Region Top 20 after a 3-0 week, knocking off then #3 ranked Oak Knoll School by a convincing score of 6-2.  It was a game that was 6-0 until the final 7 minutes of play.  Some slight shifting took place this week for the top Pennsylvania schools.  Emmaus holds onto the top spot at #2 and Penn Manor moves up to the #3 spot after registering a 4-0 week and knocking off then #11 ranked Hershey 8-0 behind 4 goals by sophomore Emma Deberdine.  Palmyra edged out Lower Dauphin 2-1 on Monday to move up a spot to #4, while Lower Dauphin holds steady at the #7 spot.  Lots of undefeated PA and NJ teams continue to fill the Top 20 spots and we await the big match-ups to determine where they all belong.  Two of those big match-ups will take place this week in New Jersey.  #9 West Essex and #19 Ocean City will face off on Saturday, and #14 Bridgewater-Raritan and #17 Rumson-Fair Haven face off on Thursday.

The lone newcomer to the Top 20 this week is Merion Mercy Academy out of Merion Station, PA.  They knocked off now #11 Villa Maria Academy 2-1 in week #1 and are now sitting at 6-0 on the season.  They enter the rankings at the #20 spot.
