What will you major in/study?: Biomedical Engineering
Why did you choose this school?:Â At VCU, the overall support for student-athletes was unlike anything I had ever seen. With over half of the field hockey team earning 4.0 GPAs last fall, and the team having the highest team GPA in the country for the past two years just completely blew me away. Once I saw the academic support for the student-athletes in person, I immediately knew this school would be my future home. As a student, my academics come first, and I loved seeing how much effort VCU put into academics along with athletics. The academic advisor really showed how much she cared about her athletes’ success. As well as the coaches who were never afraid to show their love for the game, for VCU, for the players, and for each other. VCU is also very close to home so not only is it an amazing school where I knew I can succeed academically and athletically, but I am only a 45-minute drive from my family who can enjoy watching the games in person! VCU checked every single box for me, and I couldn’t imagine committing to play anywhere else.
Other Colleges considered: University of Pennsylvania, Northeastern University, Lehigh University
Who would you like to thank?: My father, Dustin Clements. He is the biggest reason why I am the player and person I am today. He constantly motivated me to push myself to be the best goalkeeper and student I can be, and he has provided countless opportunities for me from camps to college clinics. I am so grateful for every sacrifice he has given and I thank him for all he has done! Love you.
