WEEK #3: Mid-Atlantic Region High School Rankings

The top 3 teams remain unchanged in this week’s Mid-Atlantic Region Rankings after heavy rain and flooding caused lots of postponements in the Virginia Beach area.  Glenelg (MD) emerges as the top team in Maryland and comes in at the #4 spot this week with a perfect 7-0 start.  They replace Archbishop Spalding High School who was knocked off by our newcomer to the Top 20 this week and our Regional Team of the Week, Notre Dame Prep School.  The Blazers defeated Spalding 1-0 on a late corner goal.  The previous week they knocked off one of the other top teams in the area and the now #18 ranked Garrison Forest School 4-2.  They enter the rankings at the #11 spot and we will be watching them closely to see if they deserve to be even higher up.  Charlotte Latin has emerged as the dominant team in North Carolina.  Off to a 7-0 start, the Hawks get a big jump this week up 5 spots to the #5 ranking.
