WEEK #2: New England Region High School Rankings

Watertown maintains the #1 ranking in the Week #2 New England Region Top 20 Rankings with a perfect 5-0 record.   Walpole climbs a spot to #2, also with a 5-0 record, and looks to be a top contender for a Division I title.  Two-time defending Division I state champions Acton-Boxborough have suffered some early setbacks with their young squad and although we haven’t counted them out of a post-season run, they drop to the #18 spot this week after tying Lincoln-Sudbury and losing to Westford Academy last week.  # 8 Needham continues to climb the ranks and we will be watching them closely this week as they face some key match-ups, including a big one against #2 Walpole.  Another top match-up to lookout for this week is a face off between #3 Longmeadow and #4 Andover on Saturday.

Not much shifting in the New Hampshire and Maine landscapes.  Winnacunnet and York remain the top teams there, climbing a few spots this week to the #6 and #7 spots.  The New England Prep Schools have still only played 1 or 2 games a piece.  #5 Phillips Andover Academy knocked off now #17 St. Mark’s School last week 2-0, while St. Mark’s defeated then #16 ranked Williston-Northampton 2-1.
