What will you major in/study?: Undecided
Why did you choose this school?: I chose Wake Forest because it was the perfect fit for me. The first time I spoke with the coaching staff I developed a strong connection and felt comfortable instantly. At Wake, I know I will have every opportunity to challenge and develop myself both academically and athletically. I love the unique situation of having big-time ACC athletics in a smaller school environment.
Other Colleges considered: Penn, Princeton, Harvard, Stanford, Duke, Syracuse, Michigan, Iowa
Anyone you would you like to thank: I would like to thank Coach Averill, Coach Gonzalez, and Coach Sutton and the entire Wake Forest staff for providing me a great opportunity to continue my field hockey career at such an outstanding university. Can’t wait to get started!
My high school coaches Brianna Price, Megan Brown, Ali Campbell, and Arsh Khokhar have made my high school experience extremely enjoyable and rewarding with their different styles of coaching and outlook on the game. I particularly want to thank Coach Price for all her guidance, insight, and advice in helping me craft a future path that fits my style.
My WC Eagles coaches, Jun and Richard Kentwell, Guy Cathro, and Jaja Kentwell for the outstanding training they have provided me and taking me out of my comfort zone while challenging me to grow and be my best. Their belief in me and commitment to pushing me to my full potential has enabled me to take large steps in my development.
In addition, I would like to thank all my teammates for helping to challenge me daily while bringing fun and camaraderie to all our field hockey experiences.
Finally, I want to thank my parents for always being there for me from my first moments stepping on a field to present day. I don’t think my parents have ever missed a field hockey game or event I participated in, as well as any other sports, and I will never forget that. The countless hours they have spent getting me to and from my practices and events and doing whatever was needed to help my field hockey development is something I will always be thankful for. Their continued encouragement and belief in me no matter what challenge I face has helped me realize I can accomplish whatever I set out to do.
