NFHCA WINTER ESCAPE
JANUARY 18-20, 2019 | SANFORD, FL
The NFHCA Winter Escape wrapped up yesterday at the Boombah Sports Complex in Sanford, Florida. 80 teams (plus inviduals competing on House Teams) from 18 different states competed for three days in an open style tournament comprised of athletes from the classes of 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. The big draw of the event, the college coaches, did not disappoint. With the event being held in conjunction with the 2019 NFHCA Annual Convention, hundreds of Division I, II, and III college coaches showed up to the fields to look for potential student-athletes. Click on the button below to view the official list.
The event kicked off with the Uncommitted Showcase games on Friday morning.  This was the first time MAX Field Hockey covered the Uncommitted Showcase games in person, and along with a ton of Division I, II and III college coaches lining the sidelines, we evaluated the 9 teams of uncommitted players from the classes of 2019 and 2020. Â

There were also shot stopper and scoring sessions going on at the same time to allow coaches to evaluate goalkeepers and scoring prospects, but we stuck to the uncommitted games where each team played two back-to-back 25-minute games. The purpose of these extra games was to give uncommitted 2019s and 2020s an extra opportunity to be evaluated by college coaches. While it took a bit to get a flow to the games since the players had never played together before, there were definitely some talented players participating and some in particular that shined through and stood out to us. From the 137 players that participated, we selected our top 18 (2 players from each team) that we are calling “MAX Field Hockey’s Uncommitted Showcase Top Performers.” These were the players we noticed making a difference on the field.  -View the Complete Uncommitted Showcase Rosters here-

What is the NFHCA?
The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) is a nonprofit organization serving field hockey coaches and supporters of the game from across the United States.
Mission
The mission of the organization is to stimulate the professional development of coaching leadership within the sport of field hockey. The NFHCA strives to cultivate and recognize the professional contributions of its membership and to foster and promote the growth of the sport. The NFHCA is responsible for providing a recognizable presence and voice in regard to legislation affecting the sport as well as interscholastic and intercollegiate programs.
