The biggest stories of the week revolve around two Louisville, Kentucky teams traveling to the East Coast creating some top cross-regional match-ups.  Here is how those match-ups played out:

—Eastern Regional (NJ) defeated Wyoming Seminary (PA) 3-2 in OT
—Sacred Heart Academy (KY) defeated Wyoming Seminary (PA) 1-0
—Eastern Regional (NJ) defeated Sacred Heart Academy (KY) 5-1
—Sacred Heart Academy (KY) defeated Crestwood High School (PA) 3-1

@Virginia Beach, Virginia
—Norfolk Academy (VA) defeated Assumption High School (KY) 2-0
—Frank W. Cox (VA) defeated Assumption High School (KY) 1-0
—Assumption High School (VA) defeated First Colonial High School (VA) 2-1

 

High School All-American Watch List Additions:

In August, we released our initial High School All-American Watch List.  This list was our 100 front runners and preseason top projected players across the nation who will be vying for the 60 All-American slots to be awarded at the end of the season.  [View the High School All-American Watch List]  Next week we will release our mid-season additions.  If you have a player you believe has proven they belong on this list, please email admin@maxfieldhockey and include the following information.  A reminder- this is for THIS High School season- we are not interested in their Futures selections, and outside accomplishments.  We already have taken that information into consideration in making our initial list:

  1. Player’s Name
  2. High School (City, State)
  3. Grad Year
  4. Position
  5. College Commitment (if any)
  6. Please describe their individual performance so far THIS season
  7. Please describe their individual performance/accomplishments in past seasons
  8. Please share an overview of their team’s performance so far THIS season (record, standings, key wins, etc.)

A note on our rankings:  Weekly we track over 150 team’s schedules and results, which is a daunting task given the inconsistent availability of up-to-date High School field hockey information online across the country.  While we try our best to look out for new teams on the rise or to add, logistically we heavily rely on how our previously ranked teams are doing, and we look for any teams who beat, tie or challenge one of them.  If you think we are missing a team, please let us know!  We ALWAYS welcome productive feedback and want you to let us know if we are missing a team or if you think a team should be ranked higher or lower.  Email us: admin@maxfieldhockey.com
