The player

I have been playing field hockey since I was six years old. I love the game and feel I have always had excellent field awareness, making me a natural defender and mid field player. I told my parents when I was little, “My favorite thing about field hockey is taking away the other team’s chance to score.” This statement still stands.
I am a team player and leader on my high school team. I have started varsity since I was a freshman and continue to be a leader on my team.
This year at the U19 NIT, after playing with a lot of back pain, it was discovered that I had an undiagnosed tethered cord. I missed NEXUS 2026 and IFHCK club play where I am rostered on the elite national team. I had surgery in August to release the tethered cord and I am back for the last part of my high school junior season. That experience helped me gain perspective on what it means to be able to play the sport that I love. I am a more resilient player, better teammate, and more determined than ever to play at the next level.
