Field hockey has taught me the importance of hard work, teamwork, determination and perseverance. I love how field hockey gives me the opportunity to challenge myself to become a better player.
As a freshman, I earned a spot on my high school varsity team. I have also challenged myself by playing up at the U14 club level my first year in club and competing at the U16 USA Field Hockey Nexus National Championship my first year competing in Nexus.
As a midfielder, I enjoy being involved in both the offensive and defensive sides of the game. I love the excitement of scoring a goal, but I find just as much joy in creating opportunities for my teammates and helping them succeed. I feel that I demonstrated resilience, confidence and a genuine love for the game. My goal is to continue challenging myself, growing as a teammate and player, and eventually competing at the collegiate level. I am excited for the opportunities and challenges ahead.
A fun fact about myself: I have the ability to voluntarily shake or rapidly wiggle my eyes. This ability is called voluntary nystagmus and only an estimated 5-8 % of the world's population has this ability.
